FIGHTING FOR SENIORS & THOSE MOST IN NEED:

As Chair of the County’s Human Services Committee, I am proud of my accomplishments during my first 3 years on the DuPage County Board:
A) Implemented a 2-1-1 phone system for residents in need. This is a 24/7/365 phone number that residents can call to obtain social service assistance any time of day or night.
B) Increased staffing and salaries for the DuPage Care Center Staff. It’s vitally important to take care of those who take care of our most vulnerable population.
C) Advocated for renovation to the DuPage Care Center, which houses hundreds of our aging population and hasn’t been updated in 40 years.
D) Supported hiring of more staff and better pay for the Veteran’s Assistance Committee to take care of our aging Veterans and their spouses.
E) Secured millions of ARPA dollars to fight food insecurity, housing instability, and mental health and addiction issues.

FIGHTING THE OPIOID EPIDEMIC BY GETTING OPIOID SPECIFIC EDUCATION IN MIDDLE SCHOOLS:

As a member of the DuPage HOPE Task Force – Heroin/Opioid Prevention and Education, I am fighting to end opioid addiction and poisonings among DuPage County residents.
A) Doubled the County contribution to the Task Force from 100K to 200K.
B) Secured $32K for opioid-specific education in middle schools and high schools.
C) Approved funding for the new mental health crisis center.

PUTTING AN EMPHASIS ON PUBLIC SAFETY:

As a member of the Judicial and Public Safety committee:
A) Increased the sheriff's budget.
B) Purchased top-of-line camera vests for all of sheriff personnel, which will protect our officers as well as the public.
C) As chair of the Emergency Telephone System Board- Procured all new interoperable portable and mobile radios for every police officer and firefighter within the DuPage ETSB system. These replace 12-year old radios which are out of warranty and also have batteries which are difficult to replace. This not only protects our first responders, but also saves County taxpayers millions of dollars.

FIGHTING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT :

A) Bike Paths – Successfully lobbied for a safety median at the Great Western Trail and County Farm Road to provide a safe haven for cyclists and pedestrians. Advocating to improve and expand bike paths.
B) Volunteering for Adopt a Highway and Pond and Stream Sweeps, as well as various recycling events.
C) Strong advocate for ALL environmental initiatives.

PROTECTING THE MIDDLE CLASS:

A) As a member of the Ad-Hoc Collective Bargaining Committee, I am working as a team player to help settle labor/management contracts including finalizing the DuPage Care Center employees first Union contract after 3 years of bargaining.
B) No tax increase during Greg's three years on the County Board!

WORKING ACROSS THE AISLE TO GET GOOD THINGS DONE FOR OUR RESIDENTS:

I have been a strong advocate for voting the right way for the right reasons, and that is to do what’s best for all of our residents.
